Notice of Race



RULES
The regatta will be governed by the racing Rules of sailing, the prescriptions of the R.Y.A., the rules of the Associations, except as any of these are changed by the event Sailing Instructions.

ELIGIBILITY
The meeting is open to all Kestrel dinghies on satisfactory completion of the entry form. All competitors and their families will be deemed to be temporary members of Maylandsea Bay Sailing Club for the duration of the event.

ENTRY FEE is £20 per boat.


FACILITIES, CAMPING, FOOD:
Camping is permitted on site on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th October. Access to toilets and changing rooms will be available overnight.

Refreshments will be available on Saturday and Sunday at the galley.

Saturday 12th October
        Registration         from 9:00 to 10:00

Race 2 will follow as soon as possible after the last finisher in race 1

Please note: at the discretion of the race committee, races may be raced on Sunday instead of Saturday or vice versa.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Will be available at registration.

SCORING:
The low points scoring system in Appendix A will be used. Each boat’s series score shall be the total of all her race scores, except that discards shall be applied as follows:

PRIZES will be awarded.

RADIO COMMUMICATION
Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats, this restriction also applies to mobile telephones.

DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
MBSC provides these races on the strict understanding that neither the Club nor their representatives bear any responsibility for any loss, damage, death or personal injury however caused to any competitor, skipper or crew as a result of their participation in this event (unless caused by the deliberate act or default of the club or any of its members).

INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of £3,000,000 per incident or the equivalent.
